Khmelnytskyi City Council is a local self-government body in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. According to the decision of the deputies of the city council and with the aim of widely informing the population about the situation in Khmelnytskyi region, an official Telegram channel was created. Today, the channel has 51,000 subscribers, who can always find out about current news and events of the city’s life on their phone.
Before the war, the Telegram channel covered absolutely all the information that was of interest to local residents. From announcing the timing of cultural, sports, educational and festive events, to covering current news about events and life in the city.
But from February 24, 2022, everything changed. The Telegram channel began to inform only about the most important things in order to maintain peace and take care of the safety of citizens.
Currently, there is information on: traffic, real news from different parts of Ukraine, notifications about changes in the work of city services, publication of news about the activities of volunteer organizations, addresses of officials to citizens, delivery of background information to immigrants and city residents for the purpose of development solving problems and others.
One of the important news that was covered in the Telegram channel during the war was the news about our educational charity project “Support for Ukraine”. That is, the local government not only supported the project, but also contributes to its development by spreading current news about us.
