The current state of the labor market in Ukraine

In the current conditions of the war, many Ukrainians lost their permanent jobs, so now more than 53% of working Ukrainians lost their jobs due to the war. In addition, the unemployment rate in Ukraine in 2022 will increase and will average 10% of the working population. Namely, due to lack of demand, disruption of logistics, reduction of production capacity, or destruction of warehouses and factories, most Ukrainian enterprises close their doors almost every day, which significantly affects the percentage of unemployed Ukrainians.

Also, it should be noted that only 2% of people from the above data, during the war – found a new job.

In addition, since the beginning of the war, more than 10 million Ukrainians have left their homes and moved to other cities or abroad, but the resources of the regions that receive refugees are exhausted. Appropriate for the head of the company “Agro” – “In small towns, especially in Western Ukraine, and in peacetime there was no work, and now, when many refugees have arrived there (from the east and center of Ukraine) and especially. Therefore, I can describe the situation as follows: everything is fine, we are falling “.

Researching the labor market during the war in Ukraine, it was determined that most vacancies are in such areas as wholesale, automotive, hotel and restaurant business, IT. However, most Ukrainians lack experience and knowledge in these areas, and in some, they do not have them, so the problem of employment for them becomes more, more significant.

That is why it is important today to help solve the problems of employment of temporarily displaced persons and persons left without a permanent job, through their training and retraining, creating an environment for professional development, improving their skills and providing free access to training programs, as well as employment assistance.
