The fifth edition of the free educational platform for internally displaced persons
Volunteer Nadiya Bidun and students of the “SMM” course, developed by the “Support for Ukraine” public organization, gave an interview to journalists of the MTRK “Misto” television and radio company. The television and radio company provides coverage of the life activities of the Khmelnytskyi community. In June, the non-governmental organization “Support for Ukraine” launched a charity project for the training of forced migrants in various directions. The project was implemented with the support of Oleksandr Verbitskyi, head of the “Support for Ukraine” charitable organization.
Volunteers started it to help internally displaced persons or drug addicts who lost their jobs learn a new profession and start a new life.
So far, the fifth successful graduation of trainees of the free educational platform for forced migrants, organized by a volunteer of the “Support for Ukraine” charitable organization, Nadiya Bidun, has already taken place.
As Nadiya tells: “With the beginning of a large-scale war, tens of thousands of forced migrants came to Khmelnytskyi. Everyone helped each other as much as they could. We decided that the best help from us would be the employment of displaced persons and those who lost their jobs during the war.
Before starting the training, we analyzed the needs on the labor market, on various sites and talked with employers. We managed to single out four specialties that have the greatest demand and offer courses created by us, such as: the course “Graphic design”, “Ukrainian language”, “SMM manager” and the basic course “Computer literacy”. Studying at these courses lasted two months.
During training, various and interesting trainings on employment were conducted directly.
For example, one of the invited speakers was an HR manager who has been working at the European level for more than five years. She conducted a master class, prepared the audience and provided answers to the main questions: how to properly communicate with an employer; how to behave during an interview, how to fill out your resume, and others.”
A course participant shared her impressions: “I learned about free courses after seeing an advertisement on the Internet. I filled out the form, and they called me back.
It was actually pretty cool! We had two teachers, Daria and Tatiana. The girls taught us a lot. I will use this knowledge in my professional activities. I thank the organizers of such a charity project from all listeners. You are doing a really good job!”
Not only the students are impressed, but also the teachers. The teacher of the course, Tetyana Avramenko, and herself an immigrant from the Kharkiv region, says that this is her first teaching experience.
“This is a new challenge for me. I was also worried about how they are now worried about their diploma. Therefore, I understand the participants of the course very well.
I am happy that I got involved in such a charity project. Especially since this is support for Ukraine, my country! I am glad that I can somehow help.
I thank the organizers for the opportunity to try myself as a teacher. Also, I want to thank the listeners. You are all cool guys, develop your profession with the acquired skills, and in the future, do not stop!”
Certificates of completion of the “SMM-manager” course have been handed out to fifteen forced migrants so far.
“The result of the courses is positive. According to statistics, out of eighty-five people, forty have already found employment.
The fact that a person who has mastered the courses will be able to quickly find the necessary job is not considered a result, but an additional plus. After all, after completing our courses, a person becomes confident, expands his opportunities, develops his skills, in the end he learns that he is needed, and he is supported”, concludes Nadiya, a volunteer of the “Support for Ukraine” charity organization
The public organization “Support for Ukraine” plans to help more than a hundred people who lost stable jobs because of the war, to successfully employ them, and also to organize courses for soldiers who will return home after the victory!
